ROUTE MAPS

15km

Elevation: 244m

This is a reasonably flat fun route around one of the beautiful Macadamia Farms in White River. Do watch out for the one climb about 5km from the end. Also note the race finishes on an unexpected climb.

The 15km heads out of the gate at Casterbridge across the tar road on to the Folly Farm. This first section is fast & nerves are high so be careful not to touch wheels with another rider. You will pass a dam with a bit of a climb & pass under the R40 over the pallet bridge. If you are not comfortable riding the bridge please walk. WE don’t want you falling in the Mucky water.

Then there is a steep little embankment before you head back along the river. This fast section leads into some tight single track with a couple of little bridges, be careful not to take them to fast.

Then it’s back to Bagdad AND down the airstrip, please check for aircrafts. And In the highly unlikely instant that there is an aeroplane, PLEASE NOTE that the aeroplane does have right of way.

Then it’s under the R40 again up a tough little climb – next to a fence & home free, back to the finish.

The 15km is perfectly suited to anyone just getting into mountain biking. Or racing boys & girls under 14.

25km

Elevation: 471m

The riders go out fast on jeep track into the macadamia plantation. The first single track is fast and on you quickly, into the race. hereafter there is the steady ‘Winkler’ climb, which will warm up the leg nicely, before heading into two fast fun single tracks. Then it’s onto a section of dirt road up the climb of the day. Save your legs for this one, because it is longer than you think.

But from here on out it is mostly flat & fast until you get to about 5km from the end, where you hit a tough stretch of climbing for about 2km. And then you are home free, with the little climb through the lemon trees on to the finish.

50km

Elevation: 1093m

The riders go out fast on jeep track into the macadamia plantation. The first single track is fast and on you quickly, into the race, so make sure you don’t get stuck behind someone slow than you. Then up the steady ‘Winkler’ climb, which will warm the legs up nicely, before heading into two fast fun single tracks. Then it’s onto a section of dirt road up the climb of the day. Save your legs for this one, because it is longer than you think.

Then you head out of the Macadamia Farm on to Forestry open roads, with some steep punchy climbs around the escarpment. When you hit a big open jeep track climb it’s about 3km to Mountain Spring Spur King of the Mountain.

From here there is 3km of downhill relief, but watch out if its wet, it can be slippery.

Then on to a long section of Forestry roads through the gum trees. There after you head back into Folly Farm on some fast farm roads, over a little pallet bridge that runs under the R40. From there on out it is pretty fast to the end, down the airstrip, under the R40 again and up the last horrible little climb, next to the fence. From here on out its clear sailing to the end, where the beers, burgers & pancakes are waiting.
